MyecoMoffat alongside the Moffat District and Community Council host special guests The Walk2COP26 team to have a conversation on climate change in Moffat

COP26 is a United Nations Climate change summit taking place in Glasgow 31 October – 12 November 2021. The goal is to bring parties together to accelerate action towards Paris Agreements and UN goals for climate change. It will be working with civil society, companies, and people on the front line of climate change.

Walk2COP26 is a group carrying out a 500-mile walk from London to Glasgow whilst engaging with the various communities along the way to share ideas and solutions for climate change.

MyecoMoffat alongside Moffat District and Community Council will be hosting WalkCOP26 by bringing together the key stakeholders in Moffat from Businesses to key community figures and service providers to have a conversation and raise awareness about climate change.

 The key aim

·       To have key stakeholders in Moffat in the room to have a conversation

·       To share climate change ideas and concerns

·       To work collaboratively as a community to become a more environmentally friendly town

In the first half of the meeting we will be hearing from the Walk2COP26 team and what they have seen, heard, and learned along their journey from London to Moffat.

The second half will be an opportunity for the people of Moffat to have their say, ask questions and contribute ideas.  

Teas, coffees will be served, and if time allows there will be an opportunity for people to meet and mingle at the end.
